️ Locum Tenens Orthopedic Surgeon Sports Medicine Rush Copley Medical Center Aurora, IL (Chicago Suburbs) Rush Copley Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center, is seeking a Sports Medicine fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon to support a vacancy within its Sports Medicine program. The hospital is located approximately 45 minutes outside downtown Chicago. Assignment Details Start Date: July / ASAP Assignment Length: 6 monthsReason for Coverage: Vacancy in Sports Medicine programFacility Type: Level II Trauma CenterEMR: Epic ️ Schedule & Coverage Clinic: 2 days per week Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (1 hour lunch) Average volume: patients/dayOR: 2 days per week Start time: 7:30 AMOR days currently Mondays and Fridays, with flexibility for the right candidateSurgical Volume: 8 10 cases/week, depending on case mix Call Requirements Weekend Call: 1 in 7 weekendsFriday 5:00 PM Monday 7:00 AM Weeknight Call: Shared with 6 other orthopedic surgeonsSome weeks no call, some weeks one night/weekCall night falls on the same night as one of the physician s shiftsCall includes ER phone coverage and required rounding (patients must be seen within 24 hours of admission per bylaws) Case Mix & Procedures ACL / MCL / PCL reconstructionsMeniscus proceduresHigh volume knee and ligament cases Hip arthroscopy experience required Multi ligament procedure experience requiredTraditional bread and butter Sports Medicine case mix for a fellowship trained surgeon Support & Staffing Orthopedic Surgeons on Staff: 6Total Physician Providers: 11APP Support: YesAPPs manage post ops, serve as first assists in the OR, and share ER call coverage from home Credentialing & Licensure Credentialing Timeline: 3 months (temporary privileges available)
