Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities. Performs venipuncture for testing and inserts peripheral IVs, hang IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates. Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and remove IV lines as directed by registered nurse. Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams. Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of personal protective equipment, perform hand washing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations. Champions customer service by keeping patients informed, providing updates, and demonstrating caring and compassion. Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Transports patients as directed by licensed personnel.
