About the role

Models routinely propose impossible mechanisms, unsafe procedures, and syntheses that no bench chemist would attempt. As a Chemist you'll evaluate AI chemical reasoning, catch what's wrong or unsafe, and write the answers a trained chemist would give. What you’ll actually doWrite promptsthat probe chemical reasoning: mechanisms, synthesis routes, and analytical interpretation. Review AI outputfor impossible mechanisms, unsafe procedures, and misread spectra, and rate the reasoning. Write the correct answerwhen the model falls short, with proper attention to conditions and safety. What we look forGraduate-level chemistry background or equivalent lab experience. Comfort across organic, inorganic, or physical chemistry. Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal. No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it. CompensationUp to $40 – $125+/hr depending on task difficulty and specialization. Many contributors add $10k–$100k+ a year; some make it their full-time income. About DataAnnotationDataAnnotation is where 100k+ experts train the world’s leading AI models. $150M+ paid to contributors to date, and the average contributor stays 5+ years. Flexible, remote, and always project-available.
