Customs Entry Writer – Temporary Starting at $60,000 annualized | Full-Time Temporary October 2026 through March 2027
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer for a full-time temporary assignment running from October 2026 through March 2027. This position is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of customs brokerage or import experience who can step into a fast-paced environment and independently manage customs entries, FDA-regulated shipments, Partner Government Agency requirements, and Cargo Wise processing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in import compliance, and comfortable handling entries from document review through final customs release.
Responsibilities: Prepare and transmit customs entries accurately and within required deadlines. Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and other import documentation. Process entries involving FDA-regulated commodities and Partner Government Agencies. Submit and monitor FDA and PGA information required for customs clearance. Research and apply appropriate HTS classifications and duty rates. Enter and maintain shipment and customs information in Cargo Wise. Monitor shipments for CBP or FDA holds, exams, documentation requests, and release status. Identify missing, incomplete, or incorrect documentation and resolve discrepancies. Communicate with importers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams. Maintain accurate customs records and ensure compliance with applicable CBP and government regulations. Track entries through final customs release. Assist with post-entry corrections, documentation requests, and other customs-related issues as needed.
Qualifications: 2–4 years of Customs Entry Writing, customs brokerage, or similar import experience. Hands-on experience with FDA-regulated imports. Knowledge of Partner Government Agency requirements and filings. Experience using Cargo Wise strongly preferred. Working knowledge of HTS classification and U.S. Customs entry procedures. Experience reviewing commercial invoices, packing lists, and transportation documents. Familiarity with CBP regulations, customs holds, exams, and release procedures. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Ability to manage multiple entries and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
