Senior Musical Instrument Retail Sales Associate

Music & Arts is seeking a PT Senior Sales Associate to support our mission of inspiring musicians of all ages. In this role, you will lead in-store sales of band and orchestra instruments, accessories, and rentals while delivering outstanding customer service to students, parents, and educators. You’ll guide customers in selecting instruments, manage lesson sign‑ups, process rentals and repairs, and help achieve store sales goals. The ideal candidate has retail or music industry experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for music education and community engagement. Deliver exceptional customer service to students, parents, and educators Lead sales of instruments, accessories, rentals, and lesson programs Advise customers on instrument selection and product options Process rentals, repairs, and special orders accurately Support achievement of store sales and performance goals Maintain organized, visually appealing sales floor and displays Use POS system for transactions, returns, and customer accounts Collaborate with lesson staff and school service reps on student needs Educate customers about financing, protection plans, and promotions Assist with inventory receiving, tagging, and stock management Retail sales Customer service Point-of-sale (POS) systems Product knowledge – musical instruments Cash handling and reconciliation Inventory management Merchandising and display Sales reporting and goal tracking Communication skills Upselling and cross-selling Background in music performance, education, or retail strongly preferred Knowledge of band and orchestra instruments Experience with POS or retail sales systems Weekend and evening availability
