Your Role as the Certified Medication Technician (CMT)Skilled Nursing Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to provide safe, accurate medication administration and compassionate resident care within our skilled nursing community.In this role, you'll play a critical part in supporting residents' health, safety, and quality of life by administering medications, assisting with daily living activities, and collaborating closely with licensed nursing staff in a clinical environment.Summary The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) is responsible for administering prescribed medications and supporting residents with activities of daily living in accordance with state regulations, physician orders, and Americare policies.This role works as part of the interdisciplinary care team to promote resident safety, accurate documentation, and person-centered care in a skilled nursing setting.This role may also be known as: Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Technician (CMT), Med Aide, Med Tech, or Medication Assistant.What You'll DoAdminister prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staffVerify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observationsMonitor residents for medication responses and promptly report adverse reactions or concernsAssist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobilityRecognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staffTake and record vital signs and report abnormalities per facility policyIdentify medication shortages and immediately report concerns to the supervisorMaintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as orderedSupport coworkers by providing assistance as neededComplete admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as requiredWhat You BringQualificationsMust be at least 16 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) course approved by the State of MissouriActive CMT certification in good standing, with annual updates as requiredSkills & AbilitiesAbility to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary care teamStrong attention to detail and commitment to medication safetyCompassionate, resident-focused approach to careClear communication skills and professionalismPhysical DemandsLift up to 25 lbs.and assist with resident transfers as neededPush, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistanceManeuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.Safety RequirementsFollow proper resident care procedures, including two-person lifts when requiredUtilize required PPE to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogensReport work-related injuries immediately and complete required documentationParticipate in company drug testing proceduresWork Environment This role is performed in an indoor skilled nursing environment with appropriate lighting and ventilation.Duties may occasionally include accompanying residents to outdoor or community activities as appropriate.Join Americare Senior Living and make a meaningful difference by supporting residents with safe medication practices and compassionate daily care in our Skilled Nursing community.Equal Opportunity Employer Americare Senior Living is committed to equal employment opportunities and welcomes applicants from all walks of life.We value diversity and strive to create a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging.Interested in Americare Senior Living but not ready to apply?
