About the role

Introduction The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is currently recruiting to fill a Bureau of Vehicle Services (BVS) Policy and Budget Coordinator (Motor Vehicle Program Specialist - Adv) position! This position is located in the Director's Office and your primary responsibility will be the management and coordination of the BVS operating budget. This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary: This critical role performs work that is highly specialized to the BVS budget, position management, grants, and multiple Director Office duties and projects. In this position, you will manage and coordinate the bureau's operating budget, contracts and grants. You will participate in the analyses of a broad range of major motor vehicle issues which includes legislation, planning, and evaluation of issues for consideration in Department policies, plans, programs, projects and procedures.
Salary Information: This position is in schedule-range (07-03) with an annual salary of $70,720-$78,000, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have all the following: Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Excel or comparable to create reports and spreadsheets. Experience coordinating and monitoring operational budgets and expenditures for an organization. In addition to having all the above, well-qualified applicants will have one or more of the following: Experience using an automated financial operating system, such as PeopleSoft. Experience working with grants, contracts, or other similar documents. Experience with program evaluation including process or procedure improvements.
