Job Description: Commercial Landscape Technician
Location: Lewiston, ID
Pay: $17.00-$18.26/HR
Schedule:
7:00 AM-4:00 PM (30-60 minute lunch) | schedule may adjust based on business needs Commercial Landscape Technician Opportunity We are hiring a dependable Commercial Landscape Technician to support grounds maintenance and landscape operations on a higher education campus. This position is ideal for candidates with professional landscaping experience who are comfortable operating commercial grounds equipment and working outdoors year-round. This role combines landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, equipment operation, snow removal, and event support to help maintain a safe, attractive, and functional campus environment.
Must-Haves:
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Comfortable performing physical work in all weather conditions
- Experience operating commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general landscaping and grounds maintenance duties
- Operate lawn mowers, string trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers, and other commercial landscape equipment
- Assist with snow removal, leaf removal, and floodwater cleanup
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, bleachers, flooring, and portable stages for campus events
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, tractors, carts, dollies, and hand tools
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized grounds and work areas
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Qualifications & SkillsStrong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round
- Knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance practices
- Ability to safely operate commercial equipment and tools
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Preferred Experience
- At least 6 months or one season of professional landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related experience
- Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment, including mowers, string trimmers, edgers, and leaf blowers
- Experience maintaining campus, commercial, municipal, or large-scale landscape properties preferred
- Experience operating and performing basic maintenance on grounds equipment
- Valid driver's license required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50-90 lbs throughout the shift
- Team lift required for items over 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and squatting
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods or the entire shift
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
