Manifestation Determination Facilitator

Responsibilities: Each one of the four to seven individuals will set up a monthly calendar of "availability" that building level staff may then select from and send a Google calendar invitation for a Manifestation Determination Case Conference (MDCC). Each MDCC is approximately 45 to 70 minutes in length so it is recommended that each block of time offered is 120 minutes in length. The majority of the MDCCs are at the secondary level. But, for reference school hours for each level the individual may be asked to conduct a MDCC for are: High School: 7:25 a.m. - 2:10 p.m. Junior High School: 8:20 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Intermediate School: 8:30 a.m. - 3:20 p.m. Elementary School: 8:50 a.m. - 3:50 p.m. Clear communication skills and an ability to assert themselves and lead what can sometimes become discordant meetings is a necessity. Each one of the four to seven individuals will be expected to travel to the location of the MDCC (on occasions a Google Meets attendance for the meeting will be permitted).Timely compliance with submission of paperwork concluding each MDCC is non-negotiable.

Essential Functions: Willingness to accept two to three invitations for MDCCs each month. Maintain appropriate compliance paperwork for MDCCs during and after each MDCC.Maintain neutral stance in meetings regardless of how tense they may become. Work cordially with the Building Administrator in attendance at the MDCC and ensure all procedures for the MDCC are followed. Conduct special education Manifestation Determination Case Conferences and process/file all appropriate related paperwork. Conduct Section 504 Manifestation Determination Meetings and process/file all appropriate related paperwork. Complete applicable Claim Forms MDCCs in a timely manner.

Experience, Education, and Licensing Requirements: A degree in Education from an accredited college or university (preferred cognate in Special Education or Building Level Administration).A minimum of five (5) years teaching and/or administrative experience. Effective management and leadership of adults, including coaching and consensus-building among a variety of stakeholders.
