Embedded Software Engineer

Overview In this role you will design and implement embedded software for Spectrum Control’s advanced products, focusing on Linux-based systems and Yocto deployments. You will develop C/C++ applications for ARM, build networking and test automation tooling, and establish verification methods and documentation. You’ll work across hardware bring-up and software phases, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable embedded solutions. Compensation / Benefitsbenefits begin on day 1PTOcompetitive wages 4-day, 10-hour schedule with 3-day weekend Responsibilities Build and deploy Linux OS using Yocto Build Flow Maintain software revisions with GIT and Docker Develop high-quality embedded C/C++ software for ARM processors Develop computer networking software infrastructure Create automated test software in C# to control RF test instruments and collect data Use AI tools to enhance productivity and problem solving Derive requirements and verification methods for embedded systems Produce detailed documentation of system functionality Provide internal and external customer support as needed Key requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering 5+ years of embedded software development Expert-level Linux knowledge and Yocto experience (custom layers/recipes, BSP integration, kernel config, device trees, U-Boot)Strong C/C++ skills for embedded ARM systems (cross-compilation, SPI/I2C/UART, debugging with JTAG/GDB)Strong Python and Bash scripting for build automation and test toolingcommunicationcollaborationproblem solving Linux/YoctoGITDocker
