We are seeking a Corporate Safety Manager to support safety operations across active construction projects throughout the United States. This is a hands-on, field-focused position responsible for identifying potential hazards, supporting project teams, maintaining safety compliance, and helping create a strong safety-first culture across multiple job sites. The Safety Manager will work closely with project leadership, field personnel, subcontractors, and other safety professionals to ensure safe work practices are followed and potential risks are addressed quickly. Ideally located in the Milwaukee or Grand Rapids area, or open to relocation. This position requires frequent multi-day travel to project locations throughout the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine job site safety inspections and identify potential hazards or unsafe work practices
- Work directly with field personnel and supervisors to develop and implement corrective actions
- Lead job site safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and other safety training
- Support project teams and subcontractors with pre-task planning, job hazard analyses, and other preventative safety measures
- Monitor job site activities for compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Intervene when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identified and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken
- Investigate incidents, injuries, accidents, and near misses to identify contributing factors and preventative measures
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, including training records, certifications, inspections, and orientation records
- Partner with project leadership to promote employee engagement and a proactive safety culture
- Assist with workers' compensation documentation and incident-related follow-up as needed
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of additional project safety personnel when required
- Participate in customer- or project-specific safety initiatives and programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related fieldOSHA 30 certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations
- Ability to recognize job site hazards and work collaboratively with field teams to implement corrective measures
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to construction projects throughout the United States
- Comfortable working in active construction environments and outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to walk job sites, navigate stairs and ladders, and perform the physical requirements associated with field safety responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- CHST, CSP, ASP, or another relevant BCSP certification
- Previous experience supporting safety programs within construction, industrial, manufacturing, or similar environments
- Previous field safety experience, including internships or project-based safety assignments
- Experience working directly with contractors, subcontractors, and construction project teams
