Associate Software Engineer - Pathway (June 2027)

Overview Join NOV’s Pathway Rotational Program in Rig Technologies as a Software Engineer. You’ll gain structured, hands-on experience across rotations, building functional and technical software expertise for drilling equipment. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to shape solutions that improve performance and reliability in the energy sector. This program leads to a full-time role aligned to your education and interests, with ongoing learning and impact. Start date June 2027 (other dates available). Compensation / Benefitsbenefits and wellness opportunities Responsibilities Design and implement software for drilling equipment and related applications Assist the development and maintenance of software documentation post-release Provide support for software implementation, training, and troubleshooting Develop and debu g software products prior to release Diagnose and troubleshoot related hardware as needed Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand project requirements Participate in design reviews Key requirements Graduating May 2027 or recent graduate (0–2 years) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering Experience with one or more programming languages (C++, C#, Java, Java Script, PHP, Python) and/or PLC software (STEP 7/TIA Portal, RSLogix)Strong analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-directed with a desire for continuous learning Comfortable working in a large team environment Strong communication and collaboration Self-motivation and adaptability Problem-solving and analytical thinkingC++, C#, Java, Java Script, PHP, PythonPLC software STEP 7/TIA Portal, RSLogix Software design and debugging
