Industrial Journeyman BoilermakerRichard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking experienced Industrial Journeyman Boilermakers.An Industrial Journeyman Boilermaker will unbolt and bolt flanges of pipe to equipment, pipe to pipe, etc., across a construction site.RCI has various levels of Boilermaker positions based on experience and skills ranked as follows:Boilermaker Leadman: NCCER CertifiedBoilermaker I: NCCER CertifiedBoilermaker II:Boilermaker III:Qualification Highlights:Must have 3 to 5 years working as a BoilermakerMust possess all knowledge skills and abilities for position - see belowMust be able to meet all physical requirementsMust be able to work at heights in excess of 300 feet in elevationMust have all required toolsMust be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job siteMust meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job sitePosition Responsibilities:Read engineered drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations in space (coordinates), quantities, and sizes of materials requiredIdentify all tools required for tasksIdentify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risksFabricate equipment according to engineered drawings or instructions from supervisionHoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or cranesHoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipmentRequired Qualifications:Leadership AbilitiesAbility to take lead in flange bolting, erection of steel, fabrication, grid layout, rigging, etc.Ability to perform all job duties of craft tradeDrawingsAbility to read and understand Issued For Construction (IFC) DrawingsAbility to validate and request Bills of Material (BOM) for flange assembliesAbility to make hang lists, read details off drawings, read all notes on drawings before erection, location, and understand Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) or holds on drawingsUnderstand when to stop production work and when a Request For Information (RFI) needs to be initiated and answered in order to re-start productive workRead and understand craft specs and cut sheets, craft spec procedures and recommendationsAbility to locate piece marks for correct views and know how to pick out different elevationsAbility to know the correct installation based on the orientationKnowledge of symbols based on LegendsRiggingKnowledge of all types of safe rigging practices (chokers, slings, etc.)Ability to dictate correct knots based on materialConnectionKnow all aspects of connectingKnow correct procedures for bolting and bolting patternsKnowledge of Torque or Tensioning methods used for connecting jointsTorque vs. TensionKnowledge of Torque valuesKnowledge of TensionPlan Work and ScheduleAbility to take drawings, required material, line out helpers, and execute work safelyTools and KnowledgeKnowledge of specialty tools (torque wrench, torque guns, etc.)Basic knowledge of cutting torch, setup, dangers, usage, cleaning, types of tips and when to use different tipsEquipment UseKnowledge of JLG's, man baskets, cranes, forklifts, etc.Basic maintenance (inspections)Safe operation practicesFlagging and signaling of cranes, forklifts, man lifts, etc.KnotsTying knots for tag lines, etc.Basic knots for lashingMath SkillsFootage, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, etc., to perform craft dutiesMust be willing to perform any additional duties as instructed by supervisionAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, manufacturers manuals, and instructionsGood aptitude and manual dexterityGood reading comprehensionAbility to work with others - Team playerAbility to work independently - minimal supervision, reliable performerGood communication skills with co-workers and supervisorsCommitment to Richard values, safety rules, and regulationsPreferred Qualifications:Richard Construction Inc.
