About the role

Overview As a Learning & Development professional at First Energy, you partner with HR and business units to design, deliver, and evaluate learning solutions that boost organizational performance. You will blend instructional design, learning technology, and LMS support to ensure effective, accessible training aligned with business goals. You’ll manage projects, analyze data, and contribute to governance and continuous improvement across the learning function. This is a chance to shape development initiatives at a large utility and advance learning technology adoption. Compensation / Benefitscompetitive payincentive compensationpension plan 401(k) with employer matchmedical/dental/vision/life insurancetuition reimbursement Responsibilities Conduct performance and needs analyses with HR and business units to identify training and non-training solutions Design and develop instructional materials (lesson plans, facilitator guides, job aids, assessments, e-learning modules)Apply ADDIE, adult learning principles, and facilitation to create impactful learning experiences Support LMS administration (course setup, testing, tracking, reporting, maintenance)Coordinate training logistics and measurement activities (scheduling, attendance, surveys, trend analysis)Perform quality assurance on learning materials and technology-based training for accuracy and accessibility Maintain and update Share Point and learning technology resources for currency and accessibility Analyze LMS data, learner feedback, and metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform improvements Support LMS governance (access controls, data integrity, audit readiness, training assignment accuracy)Lead and contribute to enterprise projects on employee development, leadership, and learning tech adoption Develop and deliver presentations on complex topics; tailor content to audiences Manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, timelines, and competing priorities Stay current on adult learning trends, accessibility, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement Perform other duties as assigned Travel as needed Key requirements Bachelor’s degree or seven years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree Strong knowledge of ADDIE, instructional design, and adult learning principles Experience designing across ILT, virtual, blended, and web-based formats Proficiency with training technologies including eLearning tools, virtual platforms, and video production Experience supporting LMS activities (testing, reporting, tracking, troubleshooting, records)Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication; ability to translate complex information Strong organizational and project coordination skills in a fast-paced environment Experience with Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Teams, Share Point or similar Technical aptitude to learn new systems and support end users Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive learning design Experience analyzing LMS reports, surveys, and learning metrics for data-informed decisions Experience creating SOPs, job aids, governance docs, and admin processes Interest in emerging learning technologies, AI, learning analytics, and VR/ARcommunicationstakeholder managementproject coordination Articulate Storyline Articulate Rise Camtasia
