Medical Director — Psychiatric Emergency Department Leader

Position Highlights: As Medical Director, you will: Provide clinical leadership for Psychiatric Emergency Department operations Champion quality, patient safety, and clinical excellence Partner with Emergency Medicine and hospital leadership to enhance care delivery Recruit, mentor, and support physician providers Drive program development and operational improvements Maintain an active clinical practice caring for patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture built on evidence-based care About Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center The Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center is home to Virginia's first dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Department, offering specialized emergency psychiatric evaluation, stabilization, and treatment for adolescents and adults experiencing behavioral health crises. Qualifications: Candidates should possess: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine (strongly preferred) Experience in emergency psychiatry, emergency medicine, or acute behavioral health Previous physician leadership experience preferred Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain) DEA certification
