The Women's Leadership Academy (WLA) Facilitator is a part-time role responsible for delivering a high-quality, engaging leadership development experience for a cohort of mid-to senior-level professionals.
This individual serves as the lead facilitator for monthly sessions by guiding discussion, fostering meaningful connection, and helping participants translate leadership concepts into practical application. The Facilitator also serves as an ambassador for the program, representing WLA within the broader professional community.
This role is focused on facilitation excellence and participant experience, with PACS staff providing primary support for program operations, logistics, and administration.
Examples of DutiesFacilitation & Participant ExperienceUtilize WLA curriculum to facilitate monthly full-day WLA sessions, creating a highly engaging, structured, and impactful learning environment
Guide discussions, case studies, and reflective exercises that encourage active participation and peer learning
Foster a trusted, inclusive environment that supports open dialogue, vulnerability, and professional growth
Support "growth group" conversations and peer accountability throughout the program
Adapt facilitation approach in real time based on participant needs and group dynamics
Provide light coaching during sessions and 1:1 coaching sessions for participants who elect this add-on
Content Delivery & Session PreparationPartner with PACS staff on session planning and program delivery, attending 2 meetings per month
Deliver program content aligned with established WLA curriculum and learning objectives
Prepare and refine session materials (e.g., presentations, facilitation guides, participant resources). Ensure all sessions materials are created and saved in PACS team drive
Prepare guest speakers to participate in monthly sessions to ensure alignment on session flow and participant experience
Develop pre and post session communications for sending to participants
Update curriculum as needed in consultation with PACS staff
Mentor & Program EngagementSupport mentor engagement through facilitation of mentor-related activities, including the mentor mixer
Deliver mentor training sessions to set expectations and strengthen mentor-mentee relationships
Pair all participants with a mentor based on preferences and alignment
Provide input on participant and mentor alignment as needed
Events & Community RepresentationFacilitate key program moments, including the WLA graduation ceremony
Facilitate program information sessions to provide prospective participants with an overview of the program
Facilitate 2, ½ day "intensive" workshops for WLA and broader New Orleans community
Attend and support select WLA events (e.g., holiday party, professional development events, etc.)
Represent WLA and PACS at community and networking events to build awareness and support recruitment efforts (registration fees covered by PACS office)
Serve as a visible and credible ambassador of the program within the Greater New Orleans professional community
Share WLA marketing with network
Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementReview program assessment after each session
Provide feedback on participant experience, session effectiveness, and opportunities for program enhancement
Share key insights and themes emerging from cohort discussions to inform continuous improvement
Prepare a final impact report based on assessment and feedback at the end of each cohort
Typical QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's Degree required
Demonstrated experience facilitating leadership development programs, executive education, or adult learning experiences
Strong executive presence with the ability to engage and influence mid-to senior-level professionals
Exceptional facilitation skills, including the ability to guide discussion, manage group dynamics, and create psychological safety
Ability to translate leadership concepts into practical, actionable insights
Experience working with diverse professional audiences and fostering inclusive learning environments
Proven ability to collaborate with team members to accomplish goals
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in organizational leadership, talent development, or executive education
Coaching certification (e.g., ICF) or equivalent experience
Experience facilitating cohort-based or peer learning programs
Experience with mentorship programs
