About the role

MTLI Group is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in warehouse racking, material handling, conveyor systems, or warehouse automation. This is a sales role for someone who already understands the industry and knows how to find, develop, and close projects. We are not looking for a general B2B salesperson. We want someone who has sold into warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, 3PLs, integrators, or similar industrial customers. MTLI provides a wide range of warehouse and material handling solutions, including: Pallet racking Push-back, drive-in, pallet flow, and other storage systems Shelving and mezzanines Conveyor and sortation systems Warehouse automationAS/RS and robotics Racking and conveyor installation Facility reconfigurations and relocations Engineering and permitting Turnkey warehouse projects Projects can range from smaller upgrades to multi-million-dollar facility projects. What you will be responsible for: Developing new customers in your territory Prospecting and building your own pipeline Meeting with warehouse, operations, engineering, and procurement teams Identifying new facilities, expansions, relocations, and automation projects Conducting site walks and understanding customer requirements Working with estimating, engineering, and operations to prepare proposals Following opportunities from first conversation through contract award Negotiating and closing projects Maintaining accurate opportunities and follow-ups in the CRMGrowing existing customers into repeat and multi-site accounts Attending customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events when required
What we are looking for: You should have direct experience selling one or more of the following: Warehouse racking Material handling systems Conveyor systems Warehouse automationAS/RSRobotics Industrial storage systems Forklifts or material handling equipment Systems integration We would prefer someone with 3+ years of relevant industry sales experience and a track record of developing their own business. You should be comfortable selling projects with longer sales cycles and deal sizes ranging from six figures into the millions. You will be a strong fit if: Know how to hunt for new business Have existing relationships in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution Can speak confidently with plant managers, operations leaders, engineers, procurement teams, and executives Understand warehouse layouts and basic material handling concepts Are comfortable doing site visits and customer presentations Can manage a pipeline without needing constant follow-up from management Have personally closed meaningful capital equipment or industrial projects
Compensation will include: Competitive base salary Commission Performance incentives
