Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Tucson, and Washington, DC.Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join a leading Pensions, Benefits & Investments practice. This opportunity focuses on assisting an investment team with alternative investment and private fund investments across a range of asset classes. The ideal candidate will have corporate or transactional experience, strong academic credentials, and the ability to take ownership of significant investment transactions in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with alternative investment and private fund investments across various asset classes
- Support the investment team throughout sophisticated investment transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate corporate and transactional documents
- Take ownership of significant components of investment transactions
- Collaborate with attorneys and investment professionals throughout the transaction process
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of corporate or transactional legal experience
- Experience or interest in alternative investments and/or private fund transactions
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills
- Ability to take ownership of significant transactions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
- Admission to the state bar in the jurisdiction where the candidate applies
CompensationThe annual salary range for a 2-4 year Associate Attorney is $195,000-$220,000. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
Associates are also eligible for annual bonuses, including a bonus equal to 15% of base compensation upon meeting the firm's 1,850 annual billable-hour expectation, which includes up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work.
