About the role

Shop Technician Cisco Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment in a shop environment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy construction, agricultural, and material handling equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and complete repairs efficiently
  • Determine parts, tools, and repair methods required for each job
  • Diagnostics & Parts Coordination: Work with the Shop Foreman or Service Manager to assess equipment repair needs
  • Order necessary parts through the parts department and track order status
  • Follow up on parts availability to minimize repair delays
  • Documentation & Time Tracking: Accurately complete time records for each job, including clocking in and out as required
  • Maintain clear and accurate service records to support billing and internal reporting
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company safety policies
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are safe and in proper working condition before use
  • Report any workplace injuries or safety concerns promptly
  • Shop Organization & Teamwork: Maintain a clean and organized work area in and around the shop
  • Assist other technicians as needed and contribute to a team-oriented environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance or mechanics preferred
Experience: 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
Experience with construction, agricultural, or material handling equipment preferred TechnicalKnowledge: Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently
Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Good organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Tools: Must provide a complete set of personal tools up to 1⁄2" drive
Company provides specialty tools, larger equipment, and diagnostic tools Physical
Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy parts and tools (up to 75 lbs.)Ability to work in a shop environment, including exposure to noise and varying conditions

Bonus: This position is eligible for the company's Employee Referral Bonus Program. Employees who refer successful candidates may receive up to $3,000, paid in installments over the first year of employment. Referral eligibility is subject to program requirements.
