Position Summary:
The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources team, assisting with onboarding, I-9 processing, employee records, benefits administration, recruiting coordination, and other day-to-day HR functions. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in Human Resources within a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities:
Process new hire paperwork and complete Form I-9 verification.
Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
Maintain accurate personnel files, HR records, and HRIS data.
Assist employees with general benefits questions and support open enrollment activities.
Provide administrative support to payroll, including data entry, timesheet corrections, and basic employee pay inquiries.
Coordinate interviews, schedule candidates, and assist with job postings.
Support recruiting and onboarding initiatives across multiple departments.
Prepare, scan, file, and organize HR documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
Assist with HR reporting, audits, and other special projects.
Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources team.
Qualifications:
RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Zero to two (0–2) years of Human Resources or administrative experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Experience in construction, utilities, or another field-based industry.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).Experience with HRIS, payroll, or applicant tracking systems.
