Founding Product Engineer
Location: New York City (Hybrid)
Compensation:
Up to $250,000 Base + Meaningful EquityJoin a High-Growth Startup at the Ground FloorWe're partnering with an ambitious NYC-based startup looking for a Founding Product Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping both the product and engineering culture from day one. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, enjoys operating across the full stack, and wants direct impact on company direction, product strategy, and technical decisions. You'll work closely with the founders, build customer-facing features from scratch, and help scale a product that's solving real-world problems in a rapidly growing market.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing, building, and shipping product features end-to-end
- Working directly with founders, customers, and stakeholders to influence the product roadmap
- Owning projects from concept through production
- Building scalable and maintainable systems across the frontend and backend
- Helping establish engineering best practices, tooling, and processes
- Contributing to hiring and shaping the future engineering team
What We're Looking For:
- Strong experience building and shipping products in startup environments
- Full-stack engineering expertise with modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as React, Next.js, Node.js, and cloud infrastructure
- Product-minded approach with a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences
- Ability to operate independently and thrive amid ambiguity
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment
- Previous startup experience, ideally Seed through Series B stage
Nice to Have:
- Experience building AI-powered products or integrating LLMsExposure to data-intensive applications and scalable architectures
- Prior Founding Engineer or early-stage startup experience
