Role Description:
The Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Smyrna, TN. This position is responsible for overseeing all nursing services, including planning, organizing, and directing clinical care to ensure high standards of resident care and regulatory compliance. Daily responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, managing staffing levels and schedules, coordinating care plans, monitoring clinical outcomes, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. The Director of Nursing collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, supports staff development and training, and leads infection control and safety practices. This role also involves communicating with residents, families, and external partners to support person-centered care and positive clinical outcomes.
Qualifications:
Strong Nursing Management skills, including leadership of clinical teams, staff supervision, and coordination of nursing operations.
Clinical expertise in Nursing and Medicine relevant to skilled nursing and long-term care settings.
Knowledge of Infection Control best practices and regulatory requirements in residential and skilled nursing environments.
Experience in Long-term Care, including care planning, resident assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana (or eligibility for licensure).Previous experience as a Director of Nursing or nurse leader in a skilled nursing or similar setting strongly preferred.
Proficiency in regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and quality assurance/performance improvement programs.
Effective communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze clinical data, and implement evidence-based practices.
