Assistant Warehouse Manager

Assistant Warehouse Manager Direct and coordinate cotton warehousing activities under the direction of the Warehouse Manager. These responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Primary responsibilities include inspecting the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment, preparing work orders for repairs and replacement of equipment, coordinating activities of warehouse personnel, directing salvage of damaged cotton, participating in planning personnel safety and warehouse protection activities, reviewing production orders, schedules and reports, resolving any problems, assisting in planning of warehouse operations, operating lift truck, being an active member of the facility SHE Program, maintaining good working knowledge of SHE policies, rules and procedures applicable to area of responsibility and ensuring all applicable requirements are adhered to, ensuring employees are provided required training for area assigned, and jobs and tasks prior to assigning work, ensuring area of responsibility is maintained in orderly and safe manner, ensuring unsafe working conditions are remedied as soon as practicable, and performing all related responsibilities as required. Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses: Bachelor's degree or three years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities include ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions pertaining to job. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Interpret a variety of instructions. Job requirements include standing, walking, sitting, use of hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools or controls. Must be able to reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel crouch and crawl. Also have the ability to speak, hear and communicate clearly. Required to regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required. These include good close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision. Good depth perception and the ability to focus are necessary. Duties are performed in outside weather conditions, working frequently near moving mechanical parts. Occasional work done in high, precarious places and could be exposed to fumes and cotton dust. Supervises all warehouse employees to ensure productivity and safety at all times. Accountable for warehouse productivity and safety. Accountable for employee training, supervision, and the resolution of all employee complaints and problems. Accountable for maintenance of reports and other paperwork.
