Open Rank Prosthodontics Faculty The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Reconstructive & Rehabilitation Sciences. The preferred candidate would be a prosthodontist, graduate of an AEGD/GPR program or a general dentist well experienced in removable prosthodontics. The position would involve providing classroom and clinical instruction for pre-doctoral dental students in fixed and removable prosthodontics, as well as potentially implant prosthodontics and the AEGD residency program. The faculty member will work collaboratively within all disciplines of the department and other departments of the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine. Qualified candidates must hold a DDS or DMD degree. Experience in educational innovation, use of technology in education and computer skills are expected with preference given to those with previous teaching and research experience. Successful applicant should have a South Carolina Dental License or qualify for a teaching license. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Participation in the Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care is anticipated.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform job functions in an upright position, seated position, while walking/mobile, indoors, in confined/cramped spaces, from kneeling positions, squat and perform job functions, 'pinching' operations, fully use both hands/arms, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions, maintain tactile sensory functions, lift and carry 15 lbs., unassisted, lift objects, up to 15 lbs., from floor level to height of 36 inches, unassisted, lower objects, up to 15 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted, push/pull objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted, maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, see and recognize objects close at hand, see and recognize objects at a distance, determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, good peripheral vision capabilities, maintain hearing acuity, with correction, perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
