Artificial Intelligence (AI) System Engineer

Overview In this role you will design, deploy, and operate AI systems for a government services organization, building reliable AI infrastructure and scalable platforms. You will partner with cross-functional teams to bring ML workloads into production, focusing on secure, observable, and cost-efficient solutions. You will lead CI/CD and MLOps workflows, automate operations, and drive continuous improvement across AI-enabled systems. This position offers impact at scale in a mission-driven environment with a strong emphasis on security and compliant design. Responsibilities Direct rollout and integration of AI platforms aligning with enterprise standards Architect and refine AI infra with cloud, server, and platform engineering teams Move ML solutions from development to production with repeatable deployment processes Create and manage CI/CD and MLOps workflows including validation, packaging, release, rollback, and lifecycle Automate infrastructure and operations via scripting and infrastructure-as-code Troubleshoot platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and document for support Enhance observability through logging, monitoring, alerts, and incident response Support security and compliance through audits, remediation, vulnerability management, and secure design reviews Identify improvements to boost performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency Collaborate with stakeholders to align AI implementations with priorities and evaluate new tools Other duties as needed Key requirementsstrong experience in automation Kubernetes-based deploymentsmodern MLOps practicesability to translate technical needs into durable operational solutionsproduction-grade ML deployment experienceability to collaborate with cross-functional teamscross-functional collaborationproblem solvingclear technical documentation KubernetesMLOpsCI/CD
