Overview As a Software Engineer at Voleon, you design and build scalable, high-performance software that powers trading and research platforms. You will work with traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to deliver robust backend systems and data pipelines. Compensation / Benefitscompetitive compensationmedical, dental, and vision coveragelife and AD&D insurance 401(k) with company match 20 days of paid time offdaily catered lunches Responsibilities Lead and collaborate on software work spanning trading infrastructure, data processing, and model development pipelines Design, develop, and maintain backend software for trading strategies and research initiatives Own end-to-end project delivery from requirements gathering to design and implementation Collaborate with Senior Software Engineers and benefit from mentorship Work with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and resilient systems Key requirements Experience in Linux environments with emphasis on performance, concurrency, and correctness Proficiency in Python, R, Java, Go, or C/C++Backend engineering experience with databases and large-scale data processing Ability to design, develop, and deploy backend applications per design specs Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills Familiarity with modern deployment and build tooling (Kubernetes, Bazel) – preferred Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field (Graduating class of 2027)Authorization to work in the United States Knowledge of trading/finance domain is a plus Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Cross-functional collaboration Mentorship and willingness to learn from peers Linux performance, concurrency, and correctness Python, R, Java, Go, or C/C++ programming Backend design and deployment
