Healthcare Customer Service Representative

Quantum Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to guide members through their healthcare journey. You’ll be the first point of contact, answering calls, scheduling appointments and helping patients understand benefits and care options. In this collaborative, mission-driven team, you’ll coordinate with nurses, providers and health plan partners to resolve issues, verify coverage and ensure accurate documentation. This role is ideal for detail-oriented, compassionate communicators who want to improve patient experiences while growing in a fast-scaling, innovative healthcare organization. Serve as first point of contact for patients and members via phone and other channels Schedule and confirm appointments using scheduling/EHR systems Verify insurance coverage and basic benefits information Provide clear, empathetic explanations of processes and next steps Coordinate with nurses, providers and health plans to resolve issues Accurately document all member interactions and updates Protect patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA and company policies Identify urgent issues and escalate to clinical or supervisory staff Support continuous improvement of service processes and workflows Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team environment Patient scheduling systems (EHR/EMR) Insurance verification Medical terminology HIPAA compliance Call center/customer support software Data entry and documentation Microsoft Office or similar tools Multi-line phone systems De-escalation and conflict resolution Basic healthcare benefits knowledge Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) Certified Patient Service Representative (if available) HIPAA training/certification Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
