Account Supervisor

About the role
About MIJOMIJO is a creative agency for tech and lifestyle brands, based at 169 Bowery on the Lower East Side of New York. We deliver street-level thinking and world-class craft for brands ranging from global icons to disruptive startups. Our services span video, design, branding, social and energy marketing. Street-level thinking is how we work. Street-level thinking starts with our street-level office on the Lower East Side, and it's how we work. First, we get close enough to really know who we're talking to: we interview customers, spend time where products get used, and hang out in the communities and online spaces where culture actually happens. Then we show up with those people, on their level and in the real world, from events and pop-ups to merch drops and wheatpasting on the block. Generic understanding makes generic work. Our work spans consumer, technology, financial services and purpose-driven brands, with recent clients including Jones Road Beauty, Noble Mobile, Carver Bank, Pod Network and the National Partnership for Women & Families. We're independent, compact, nimble and the people who pitch the work stay on it. We use new technology where it genuinely improves the work. We also believe human qualities: taste, judgment, cultural understanding and human craft matter more as those tools get easier to access.
The role:
Account Supervisor We're hiring an Account Supervisor to lead a group of our consumer clients including: a consumer home appliance brand, a mobile phone carrier, and Carver Bank, a Black-owned financial institution with deep roots in Harlem. These clients don't buy one big campaign a year from us. They need an ongoing presence across film, social, design and the street, and a single person who holds the whole picture for each of them. This is a hands on account leadership role where you will own the client relationship and account health partnering closely with production, creative, and finance. You've built your career on DTC and consumer goods brands, and you know how a launch actually works: product, packaging, content, creators, retail, paid and the drop calendar. You're as comfortable at a customer event or on a video shoot as you are in a strategy meeting with a founder.
What you'll do:
Provide hands-on account leadership across three client relationships of varying size, pace and complexity. Serve as the day-to-day lead and strategic partner for each client, overseeing the health, momentum and long-term success of the relationship. Know each client's business: their economics, growth priorities, channels, DTC and retail mix, launch calendar, and what actually moves the number. Get close to the people your clients serve. Surface real user stories through conversations, community events and time in the field, and bring those insights back to the team. Turn business priorities and audience insight into clear, inspiring briefs the creative team can run with. Run the work at a steady cadence across film, organic and paid social, design and physical activations, so it reads as one brand all year. Keep internal teams aligned on priorities, decisions, next steps and client context so the people making the work have what they need. Lead client presentations and conversations around the work, helping connect creative decisions back to the brief and business goal. Work with our paid media partners so performance creative learns from how audiences respond. We don't buy media ourselves. Lead physical-world work with our producers: events, pop-ups, merch drops and wheatpasting, including permits, vendors and neighborhood partners. Manage talent and creator partnerships, including communication, briefing, expectations, approvals, and keeping the client/talent aligned. Own scopes, budgets, timelines and profitability on your accounts, and flag risk early. Grow the accounts you lead by understanding what's coming next, identifying where MIJO can be useful, and turning those opportunities into well-defined work. For Carver, work with the bank's leadership, local businesses and community partners, and run the review process that comes with financial services work..
Who you are:
You have 5 to 7 years in account management at a creative, social or production hybrid agency, ideally one with in-house production.
Required:
hands-on experience leading DTC and consumer goods clients. You've been in the room for launches, drops and retail moments, not just the social calendar. You understand consumer business economics, not just communications. You go talk to people. You'd rather hear it from a customer than read it in a deck. You've run experiential and physical work, not only digital. You're at home in culture. You know which creators matter, what's happening in the neighborhood and online, and why a drop sells out. You use new tools well, and you know they don't replace taste or judgment. You write clearly, speak directly, and stay calm in a notes round. You're honest with clients and act as a partner, not an order taker. You want a shop with no layers, where your name is on the work. You live in New York City and work from our office at 169 Bowery on in-office days in our hybrid model. This is a must.
Nice to have:
Telecom, fintech or financial services experience. Experience managing celebrity or creator talent with approval rights. Details
