The business is looking for a highly entrepreneurial technology leader who can operate at the intersection of AI, product, engineering and commercial strategy, with the opportunity to shape the technology roadmap, build a high-performing team and play a fundamental role in scaling the company. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise across generative AI, LLMs and agentic AI, combined with the commercial judgement to understand where AI creates genuine business value and how to turn emerging technology into scalable products. You will join at a pivotal stage of the company's growth, taking ownership of the technology function and helping define what the business becomes over the next several years. There is significant scope to influence not only the technology, but the wider commercial direction of the company. Key Details:

Future Outlook: This firm wants to sell in a few years or as soon as realistically possible. No rush, but that's the game. Roughly 40 staff now, and looking to grow by 40-80 next year. Key Experience: AI Leadership: Deep experience building and deploying AI products, platforms or infrastructure, with the technical depth to make high-level architectural decisions. Agentic AI: Strong understanding of AI agents, autonomous workflows, tool use, orchestration, multi-agent systems and the evolution of LLM-based applications beyond traditional chat interfaces. Generative AI: Extensive experience across LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, model evaluation, fine-tuning, and productionisation of generative AI systems. Technical Architecture: Proven ability to design scalable, resilient and commercially viable technology architectures from the early stage through significant growth. Engineering Leadership: Experience building and leading high-calibre engineering teams, ideally within a startup, scale-up, or rapidly evolving technology environment. Product: Ability to translate emerging AI capabilities into compelling products that solve genuine customer problems rather than pursuing technology for its own sake. Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of how technology decisions influence revenue, margins, customer acquisition, retention and overall business growth. Entrepreneurship: Founder mentality, with the willingness to operate strategically one minute and get deeply involved in technical execution the next. Strategic Vision: Ability to anticipate where AI technology is heading and translate that into a clear, differentiated technology strategy for the business. Stakeholder Leadership: Comfortable working directly with founders, investors, customers and senior commercial stakeholders, communicating complex technology clearly to non-technical audiences. Execution: A track record of taking ambitious technical concepts from idea through to production, adoption and commercial scale.
