Senior Backend Engineer - Go, Fraud & Disputes Infrastructure New York City or San Francisco (Hybrid, 3 days/week) | $200k–$240k + equity | 3-stage interview process Our client is a well-funded, high-growth fintech company backed by leading venture investors, building infrastructure software for financial institutions in the fraud and risk space. They're scaling their engineering team as demand for the product grows, with a strong emphasis on ownership, technical depth, and building in a regulated, high-stakes environment. This role focuses on building core backend systems that power real-time transaction processing at scale. You'll work closely with senior technical leadership, own end-to-end delivery of key features, and have a real voice in system architecture and technical direction as the platform expands.
Requirements: 6+ years as a software engineer, with 2+ years using Go or Java in production Experience on platform teams with meaningful contribution to system architecture Track record leading an end-to-end feature implementation or core service re-architecture Strong fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, distributed systems design patterns Comfortable mentoring engineers and operating as sole tech lead on a project Right to work in the US (no sponsorship provided)
Nice to have: domain experience in payments, fraud, disputes, or financial services; startup/scale-up experience; exposure to Kafka, gRPC, or Protobuf Logistics: Hybrid, NYC or SF (in-office 3 days/week), $200k–$240k + early-stage equity, 3-stage interview process (system design, coding round, culture & offer call),
