The firm is seeking an AI Implementation Specialist to work with our Head of Data on the firm's AI efforts. The AI Implementation Specialist will interact directly with the firm's Portfolio Managers and Analysts across all equity sectors. This individual will learn how each sector team generates, researches, and evaluates investment ideas in order to enhance or develop AI tools to make those processes more efficient. The role combines hands-on technical work with a strong understanding of the investment process. The ideal candidate can identify useful applications of AI, build and test tools using firm data, and communicate effectively with investment professionals about where those tools can add value.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate directly with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to understand their investment processes and identify areas where AI tools could be successfully integrated to drive efficiency and generate alpha. Conduct in-depth analysis across various investment workflows, such as research and news flow ingestion, financial modeling, portfolio management and idea generation to surface insights and recommendations. Translate requests into clear, well-defined product specifications. Work with Data team to build, test and release new tools, leveraging Python, SQL, Databricks, LLM APIs, and MCP connectors. This may include developing notebooks, jobs, SQL warehouses, and Genie spaces within Databricks. Maintain comprehensive documentation of the firm’s AI resource library and facilitate ongoing training and education for the investment team. Manage requests from multiple investment teams and prioritize projects based on their potential impact. Maintain a constant line of communication with the investment team to collect feedback and measure the impact of tools and automation. Partner with Compliance team to ensure that all workflows conform to security guidelines set by the firm.
DESIRED SKILLS: AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:3+ years of experience, ideally working directly with investment professionals at a hedge fund, long-only manager, or sell-side research desk. The candidate should understand the investment process and the cadence of research, earnings, and other events throughout the investment calendar. Strong hands-on coding skills in Python and SQL, with the ability to write code that meets engineering standards and can be reviewed and maintained by others. Practical experience with Databricks is required. Hands-on experience with LLM application patterns, including retrieval, evaluation, tool use, and agentic workflows. The candidate should understand where these approaches can fail and be able to identify potential limitations before building a tool. Excellent communication skills – the ideal candidate will have the ability to lead productive working sessions with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to understand their needs and create an actionable solution. Strong judgment in assessing whether a project will meaningfully improve an investment team’s workflow.

The Firm offers a total compensation package that includes a base salary and discretionary performance-related bonus, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Consistent with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, the currently anticipated base salary range for this role is $125,000 to $175,000, which is specific to New York City and New York State. When crafting an offer of employment and total compensation package for candidates, the Firm may incorporate a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
