Substitute Nurse

Qualifications: Current LPN nurse licensure, in accordance with the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Physically capable of executing tasks, heavy lifting, and climbing. Basic Life Saving (BLS) training and certification. Ability to communicate and work effectively with public, confidential records, students, staff, and others.

Primary Duties: Function as an effective member of the educational/school team. Participates in: vision, hearing and early childhood screening. Prepares and updates a confidential student health conditions list. Initiates and maintains procedures for administration of all medications and treatments to students per physician orders and parent authorization. Administer first aid, medical care and emergency procedures, as needed. Make appropriate referrals for students in need of physical, emotional, vision, hearing and dental care. Assist with implementation of the district's blood borne pathogen standard. Assist with setting up emergency student transportation. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Supervisor: District Head School Nurse. This is a SUBSTITUTE position on an as needed basis. Wage is $19.53 - $24.38 per hour.
