Software Engineer IV – Web/Database Development

Overview In this role you will lead enterprise database design, security, and performance across Oracle and SQL Server environments, shaping architecture and policy for mission-critical systems. You’ll collaborate with DBAs, developers, and architects to deliver highly available, secure data solutions that meet current best practices. You will apply your expertise to data modeling, replication, and integration while guiding implementation across complex initiatives. This is a senior, impact-focused position in a federal contractor setting with a strong emphasis on security and reliability. Responsibilities Design and optimize enterprise database environments (Oracle and/or SQL Server)Develop and implement database policies, procedures, and security controls Support data modeling, data flow, and data decomposition diagrams for enterprise systems Collaborate with DBAs, developers, architects, and stakeholders on complex projects Ensure high availability, replication, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery Review, design, and maintain database access and modification code (stored procedures)Evaluate emerging database technologies and apply best practices in enterprise environments Provide technical guidance across teams and document solutions and processes Key requirements Seven or more years of experience in database modeling, design, administration, and implementation Extensive experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server environments Experience with database security, integrity, availability, and performance Experience with enterprise database architecture, integration, and data governance Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills Experience collaborating with DBAs, developers, and system architects Ability to develop data-centric solutions and documentation Experience addressing capacity, replication, and high-availability issues Collaborative mindset Strong communication and documentation skills Analytical and problem-solving orientation Oracle database administration Microsoft SQL Server administration Data modeling and database design
