The Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) invites applicationsfor a tenure-track position in economics at the assistant professorlevel in the fields of experimental economics, behavioraleconomics, and economic history. Exceptionally well-qualifiedapplicants in other fields and at more senior levels may also beconsidered. Caltech is a world-renowned institute of science and engineering, committed to innovative research and teaching that preparesstudents to address fundamental social and technologicalchallenges. We seek highly qualified candidates who are committedto a career in research and teaching. The initial appointment as anassistant professor is contingent upon completion of a PhD in arelevant field. The initial appointment for tenure-track positionsis normally four years. Reappointment beyond the initial term iscontingent upon successful review conducted prior to thecommencement of the fourth year. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2026. Salaries for professorial faculty at Caltech fall in the range of$125,000 to $400,000.
