About the role

Seeking a skilled Pediatric Ophthalmologist for ROP NICU Screenings at a healthcare facility. Your role will involve providing comprehensive eye exams and screenings for newborns across three NICUs. This is a locum tenens position with a flexible schedule, allowing you to work approximately 48 total hours in a week. The position does not require on-call duties and will be well-supported by NICU nursing staff. Key Details- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens- Setting: Inpatient- Start Date: ASAP- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM- Patient Population: Pediatric (Ages 0-1)- Location: El Paso, TXBenefits- Weekly direct deposit- Malpractice insurance with tail coverage- Supportive credentialing assistance- Flexible scheduling Job Responsibilities- Conduct ROP screenings in NICUs at three hospital campuses.- Collaborate with NICU nursing staff and fellow medical experts.- Document and analyze patient data effectively.
Qualifications: Board Certified in Ophthalmology - Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS- Experienced with pediatric ophthalmology procedures Working Hours- Approximately 48 total hours without call duties Skills- Proficiency in non-surgical, surgical, LASER procedures, and cryotherapy- Expertise in both anterior and posterior segment ophthalmology skills- Experience in pediatric ventilation management and conscious sedation- Ability to interpret ocular ultrasound, photos, and angiographies This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in a supportive, dynamic environment.
