Crane Operator - Marine Construction The primary function of the Crane Operator is to operate heavy friction cranes on barges and on land. Most of our work is performed at remote worksites along the Mississippi River, south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, or at our own yard in Harvey, Louisiana, but we sometimes operate in other geographical areas. Stewart Construction, LLC provides a wide variety of industrial and marine construction services, including the fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of docks, wharfs, pilings, dolphins, fender systems, coffer dams, intake and outtake systems, ship and barge material handling systems, and other, similar systems and structures, as well as demolition and removal services.
Minimum Qualifications:
18+ years of age.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to travel to remote worksites on a regular and ongoing basis.
Must pass a drug-screen.
Must pass a background investigation.
Must pass a fit-for-duty examination.
Eligible to enroll in the DISA program.
TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
Preferred Qualifications:
NCCCO Crane Certification with a Lattice Boom Crawler (LBC) or Lattice Boom Crane (LAT) designation.1+ years' experience operating heavy friction or hydraulic cranes (preferably in marine construction).1+ years of experience working on or by the water (preferably the lower Mississippi River).Experience operating Manitowoc friction cranes. Experience operating hydraulic cranes. Experience operating cranes mounted on a barge or other marine vessel. Experience driving piles in a marine environment. Regular, full-time employment.
