About the role
Seeking a dynamic Public Services Archivist, the part-time hybrid role will manage public services operations, oversee reading room activities, and provide reference and instruction services to support research, teaching, and learning at the Tufts Archival Research Center.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee TARC's public services program, including reading room operations and remote reference inquiries
Design and evaluate instruction sessions, collaborating with faculty to support curriculum-specific needs
Develop and implement outreach initiatives to promote TARC's collections and services across campus
Required qualifications:
MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent education and experience
At least 3 years of experience in an archives or special collections environment
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software related to archives public services
Strong familiarity with research processes and providing reference services in an academic setting
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
