Litigation Paralegal – Washington, DCAn established national law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its Washington, DC office. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation professional with strong case management, discovery/eDiscovery, and trial preparation experience.
Location: Washington, DC
Salary: $65,000–$115,000, with flexibility up to approximately $120,000 for a highly qualified candidate Billable Requirement: 1,400 hours annually
Schedule: Onsite 5 days per week for the first 90 days; a hybrid schedule of 4 days in office/1 day remote may be considered thereafter
Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (9:00 AM–6:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, with a one-hour lunch)
What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of substantive paralegal experience and a stable employment history. Prior trial experience is strongly preferred, along with hands-on experience managing complex litigation matters from discovery through trial. Key experience should include: Strong case management, court filing, and deadline-tracking experience across state, federal, and appellate courts Managing the full discovery and eDiscovery lifecycle, including collection, review, and production Drafting discovery responses and reviewing documents for relevance and privilege Preparing and maintaining privilege logs Advanced experience with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity and similar tools Drafting, issuing, tracking, and domesticating subpoenas; coordinating service and monitoring responses and deadlines Preparing for trials and depositions, including exhibits, binders, summaries, demonstratives, and courtroom support Experience indexing, tracking, and managing case materials, discovery, deposition exhibits, and trial exhibits Summarizing depositions and other transcripts Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook Experience with document management systems such as iManage or Net Documents Legal research, Bluebook, and cite-checking experience preferred, but not required EducationA BA or BS degree is preferred. Candidates with an Associate's degree or paralegal certificate will also be considered with at least 8 years of comparable work experience.
Additional Qualifications: Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The position requires someone who can work independently, take initiative, manage multiple competing priorities, and remain organized in a fast-paced litigation environment. A stable employment history is important for this opportunity.
