About the role

Officer - Specialty Pediatrician A crucial part of supporting Airmen is helping them care for their families, especially their children. Providing care for infants, children and adolescents, Pediatricians manage the physical, mental and emotional well-being of their patients. Whether they're conducting a routine checkup or treating illness or injury, these specialists play a critical role in keeping their patients happy and healthy through every stage of development.
What you'll do:
  • Examine, diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of infants and children
  • Prepare and review case histories for patients
  • Manage pediatric services using a variety of resources
  • Coordinate pediatric services with other medical activities
  • Instruct interns and residents in proper diagnostic and treatment procedures for infants and children
  • Training & Education
  • Officer Training School: 5.5 weeks at Maxwell AFB, ALKey things to consider requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school of medicine or osteopathic medicine
  • Completion of a residency or fellowship in pediatrics
  • Completion of Officer Training School course
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 48th birthday
