Position: Quality Control Inspector (QC Inspector)
Job Overview: Level Up Sourcing LLC is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector for a manufacturing/fabrication opportunity in Arlington, TX.This is a specialized QC position requiring significant experience in ASME fabrication, welding quality, inspection, and documentation. We are looking for a candidate who understands the complete quality process within an ASME fabrication environment—not simply general manufacturing quality inspection.
The ideal candidate will have: 5+ years of Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience involving pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, piping, or similar fabricated equipment. Pay is $35.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities: As the QC Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring fabricated products, materials, welding processes, testing, and documentation comply with applicable ASME codes, customer requirements, engineering specifications, and the company's Quality Control Program.
Responsibilities include: Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated equipment and components. Ensure fabrication activities comply with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and ASME Section IX requirements. Work within and support an established ASME Quality Control Program. Review and verify WPS, PQR, WPQ/WQTR, weld maps, and welding documentation. Review Material Test Reports (MTRs) and verify proper material identification and traceability. Verify welders are properly qualified and working under approved welding procedures. Review and coordinate Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) requirements and reports. Witness, coordinate, and document hydrostatic testing and other required inspections or testing. Identify and document nonconforming conditions and assist with Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions. Review inspection and fabrication records for accuracy and code compliance. Assist with preparation and review of Manufacturer’s Data Reports (MDRs) and quality documentation packages. Coordinate with Authorized Inspectors (AI), third-party inspectors, customer inspectors, production personnel, engineering, and management. Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and applicable codes. Maintain accurate and organized quality and inspection records. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Assist with preparation for ASME Joint Reviews. Communicate quality concerns and nonconformances clearly and professionally.
Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have:5+ years of QC/QA experience in ASME pressure vessel, heat exchanger, boiler, piping, or related fabrication.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1.Strong working knowledge of ASME Section IX.Experience working within or administering an ASME Quality Control Program.
  • Experience working with Authorized Inspectors (AI) and third-party and/or customer inspectors.
  • Working knowledge of WPS, PQR, WPQ/WQTR, MTRs, weld maps, NDE reports, hydrostatic testing, NCRs, and Manufacturer’s Data Reports.
  • Strong knowledge of material identification and traceability.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.Highly Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates with:
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Previous experience as a QC Manager, QC Supervisor, Lead QC Inspector, or similar role in an ASME U-Stamp fabrication shop.
  • Experience preparing for or participating in ASME Joint Reviews.
  • Familiarity with NBIC/National Board requirements.
  • Experience with PED, DNV, Bureau Veritas (BV), or other international/customer quality requirements.
  • Current or previous ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II qualification or other relevant NDE certifications.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered in place of a degree.
