AmeriCorps Student Success Coach – Education Nonprofit

City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class academic support to students in partnership with classroom teachers Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Serve as a mentor and role model, building trusting relationships with students Monitor and encourage student attendance, engagement, and positive behavior Support implementation of social-emotional learning activities Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs Track and document student progress and participation Collaborate closely with fellow AmeriCorps members and school staff Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage in community service and school-wide events Classroom support Small-group tutoring Youth mentoring Behavior management support Data entry and progress tracking Basic educational technology use Communication with students, staff, and families Team collaboration Time management Cultural competency and equity-focused practice Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps member U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (per AmeriCorps requirements) Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Experience working with youth (volunteer or paid) preferred
