Melt Supervisor

Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate personnel and materials to safely and efficiently produce high-quality steel Supervise production employees involved in scrap loading, handling, melting, and steel refining operations Train, coach, and direct employees on melt shop operating procedures and proper equipment use Ensure completion of all required production, safety, and supervisory reports Actively support and enforce all safety policies and procedures within the area of responsibility Participate in accident and incident investigations and implement corrective actions Collaborate with maintenance teams to support equipment reliability and assist in diagnosing operational issues Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and production experience in electric arc furnace steelmaking and ladle metallurgical furnace operations High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred Basic knowledge of metallurgy and steelmaking principles Broad understanding of melt shop operations, including scrap mix composition, carbon and oxygen practices, and alloy calculations for producing various carbon steel grades Experience with scrap quality control, EAF operations, and preventive maintenance of melt shop equipment, including cranes Ability to support troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and maintenance repairs Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
