About the role

Call Center Patient Representative – Part-Time Michigan Institute of Urology is seeking a Part-Time Call Center Patient Representative to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping patients, is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and has strong healthcare and customer service experience.
Position Details: Part-Time: 3 days per week Monday availability is required
Schedule: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Initial Training/Probationary Period: Position will begin fully in-office for the first 90 days. Following successful completion of training and the probationary period, the position will transition to a hybrid schedule, with some days working from home and some days working in the office.
Responsibilities: Answer a high volume of inbound patient calls in a professional and courteous manner. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments. Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, locations, and general office insurance information and accurately document patient electronic health records and multiple computer systems while speaking with document calls, messages, and patient concerns. Route calls and messages to the appropriate department or clinical team when necessary. Handle patient concerns and difficult calls with professionalism, patience, and accuracy and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment. Meet productivity and quality expectations while providing excellent patient service.
Qualifications:
  • We are looking for someone who has:
  • Previous healthcare experience, preferably in a physician office, medical call center, or similar setting.
  • Experience with appointment scheduling and/or patient
with insurance experience handling a high volume of inbound calls. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and patient-focused organization and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize while working across multiple systems. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging patient interactions. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently once fully trained and successfully transition to a hybrid environment.
