About the role

Paraprofessional - Special Education Posting #: 3639 Work Hours: 6.75 hours per day (8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, for 172 contract days (170 student contact days plus 2 inservice days during the school year) per school year.
Job Duties:
  • Assist student(s) with special needs throughout the school day with instruction in basic skills, social skills and routine assistance for students who need support with managing extreme behaviors, toileting, hygiene, medical and mobility needs
  • Supervise special education student(s) to ensure safety
  • Assist with collecting and monitoring of student progress data
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Highly qualified per MDE requirements for special education paraprofessionals
  • Acceptance of students' disabilities and limitations
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or move a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Accepts direction from supervising teacher(s) and is willing to work as a team
Salary and Benefits: Salary based on the 2025-2027 School Support Employees Agreement Level VI from $21.78 up to $24.18 per hour. Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions. Benefits may include the following:
