Facilities Support Engineer I – Operations Service Center We are seeking a Facilities Support Engineer I (FSE) to join a 24x 7 Operations Service Center supporting critical facilities and data center operations. This role will focus on major incident management, facilities alarm monitoring, remote troubleshooting, change control, procedural compliance, and facilities systems/data integrity. The Operations Service Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so this position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Scheduling is based on business and operational needs, and shifts may change as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and facilitate Major Incident Management bridges and prepare Incident Review Reports (IRRs).Respond to facility-related requests and provide technical support for troubleshooting operational issues. Monitor BMS/EPMS alarms, determine appropriate actions, and resolve or escalate issues according to established procedures. Correlate system changes with facility alarms and identify potential causes of incidents. Perform initial troubleshooting and provide detailed documentation when escalation is required. Manage incident tickets through resolution, follow-up, and closure. Monitor recurring issues and identify patterns that could lead to operational problems. Determine when customer communications are required based on incident impact. Support change control activities and ensure compliance with established procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Work with Service Now, Nuvolo, CMDB, CMMS, and monitoring platforms to support facilities operations. Respond to inquiries and follow up on requests that cannot be immediately resolved. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.2+ years of experience working in a data center or other critical environment.1+ year of experience with CMMS, ticketing, and monitoring platforms such as Service Now, Science Logic, or similar tools.1+ year of experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).Working knowledge of Configuration Management Databases (CMDB).Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability and willingness to learn new facilities, monitoring, and operational software applications. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and incident-management skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts. U.S. Citizenship is required due to requirements associated with federal customer contracts.
