About the role

Expected compensation: 66.17 USD Per Hour Hire Art is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Senior Instructional Designer, Manufacturing Training to support its Manufacturing Operations training program. As the organization prepares to scale, you’ll play an instrumental role in building a mature training system that supports safety, quality, and compliance across manufacturing teams. In this role, you’ll design and implement a comprehensive training ecosystem that emphasizes safety and bridges the gap between introductory virtual learning and practical, hands‑on qualification. Training will span technical machinery, manufacturing processes, and the digital applications and tools used within a modern manufacturing facility, requiring comfort working in industrial environments as well as with technical documentation and digital systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced instructional designer and skilled technical translator who can transform complex technical documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) into clear, engaging, competency‑based learning experiences. You bring strong knowledge of adult learning principles and can independently build and manage structured training programs within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. As a Senior Instructional Designer, Manufacturing Training, You’ll Design and develop structured curricula for manufacturing and logistics associates, including virtual learning, instructor‑led training (ILT), on‑the‑job training (OJT), and certification frameworks. Create high‑quality virtual training modules using Articulate 360, Rise, and Storyline while applying instructional design best practices, including information chunking and accessibility standards. Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and Technical Writers to translate complex work instructions and technical specifications into clear, interactive training materials while helping maintain training content and style standards. Develop criteria‑based assessments and practical qualification checklists to evaluate learner competency and support knowledge retention. Define and standardize OJT processes and qualification criteria, ensuring a seamless transition from virtual learning to supervised practical application. Support the management and optimization of the Docebo Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring training content is organized and effectively delivered.
Requirements: 5+ years of instructional design experience within a technical or industrial environment Demonstrated expertise designing and developing both virtual and instructor‑led training, with a strong understanding of adult learning theory and interactive engagement strategies Expert‑level proficiency with Articulate 360, including Rise and Storyline, and experience with enterprise Learning Management Systems such as Docebo Proficiency with Google Workspace and AI tools Exceptional ability to synthesize complex technical documentation into clear, engaging, and action‑oriented training content Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with SMEs, managers, and Technical Writers in a fast‑paced, in‑person factory environment Ability to independently organize, develop, and manage training programs for an assigned area, with ownership of content quality, organization, and LMS delivery Ability to wear safety footwear that meets ASTM F2412/F2413 requirements, including composite‑toe safety shoes, beginning on the first day of work
Bonus Qualifications: Experience in autonomous vehicles, high‑tech manufacturing, automotive production, or highly regulated industries such as utilities, aviation, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals A professional certificate or master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related technical field
