Our client is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead a premier marina and boatyard operation near Long Island, New York. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hospitality-minded operator to oversee a multifaceted waterfront business serving an affluent and highly discerning customer base. The organization combines luxury marina services, marine maintenance, storage, fuel operations, and customer amenities into a high-touch, service-driven environment where operational excellence and customer experience are equally critical to success. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of commercial leadership, operational discipline, financial acumen, and relationship management experience. This leader will be responsible for driving business performance, elevating service standards, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations across all facets of the property.
Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership for all marina, boatyard, marine service, storage, fuel dock, and customer-facing operations Maintain full P&L accountability including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and long-term business strategy Drive revenue growth, profitability, customer retention, and operational efficiency across multiple revenue streams Analyze operational and financial performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and business optimization Lead and develop cross-functional teams across marine operations, service, yard operations, dock staff, and administrative functions Create and refine operational workflows to improve technician productivity, yard utilization, scheduling efficiency, and service turnaround times Champion a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization Oversee marina infrastructure, maintenance planning, equipment utilization, and facility improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, insurance, and regulatory requirements Deliver a luxury-level customer experience by proactively managing client relationships and resolving escalated customer matters with professionalism and urgency Serve as a visible leader within the boating and waterfront community, building relationships with yacht owners, captains, vendors, yacht clubs, and local stakeholders Partner with marketing and leadership teams to strengthen brand positioning, customer engagement, and market presence Support succession planning, employee development, recruiting, and retention initiatives across the operation Maintain strong emergency preparedness, incident response, and risk management protocols Qualifications 7+ years of leadership experience within marina operations, marine services or similarly service-intensive environments Proven experience leading complex operational businesses with full financial and operational accountability Strong P&L management experience with demonstrated success driving growth while maintaining operational discipline Experience managing large, cross-functional teams in operationally intensive settings Strong understanding of customer service excellence, infrastructure operations, and service delivery management Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on leadership environment Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to interact confidently with high-net-worth clientele and executive stakeholders Strong operational problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset Experience implementing operational systems, service processes, and workflow improvements preferred Passion for hospitality, waterfront operations, luxury service, or marine environments strongly preferred
