About the role

Job Description: Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.
Job Summary:
  • The Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

  • Monday-Friday, 5:00PM-10:30PMTuesday-Saturday 4:00AM-8AM$19.00-24.25 per hour, based on experience
The posted pay range reflects the compensation range for this position. Starting pay will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, skills and internal equity. Employees are generally hired below the maximum of the range to allow room for future compensation growth as they gain experience, develop their skills and demonstrate increased proficiency in the role. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
  • Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
  • Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
  • Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
  • Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
  • Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently
Education and Experience: At least 16 years of age High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
