Personal Support Specialist (PSS)

Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, certification, and availability Pay Increases: Opportunities for pay increases based on performance, reliability, and additional certifications Schedule Options: Full-time and Part-time positions available(Day, evening, weekend, and overnight if applicable)Flexible scheduling Ongoing supervision and support Career growth opportunities (CRMA, CNA, DSP, CNA-M, Nursing pathways)Mileage reimbursement (when applicable)Supportive office team available for guidance and problem-solving Job Description / Duties Personal Support Specialists (PSS) provide hands-on, non-medical support to older adults and individuals with disabilities to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes or residential settings. Services are provided according to each client'sauthorized plan of careand Maine Touch guidelines. As a PSS, you will: Assist clients withpersonal care taskssuch as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene Support clients withmobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids Help withhousehold tasks related to care, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens Assist withmeal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errandsas outlined in the care plan Providecompanionship and conversationand support daily routines or hobbies Observe and report changesin a client's condition or safety concerns to your supervisor Follow all instructions and perform only tasks listed in theclient's service plan Complete requireddocumentationaccurately and on time Followinfection control and safety guidelinesduring all client interactions Maintainclient confidentialityin accordance with HIPAA and Maine Touch policies Respond appropriately toemergenciesand report incidents immediately Treat all clients withdignity and respect Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules Follow all Maine Touch policies and proceduresand participate in required training Who This Job Is For This position is a good fit for individuals who: Enjoy one-on-one work with clients Prefer working independently rather than in large teams Are dependable and comfortable working in home settings Want flexible scheduling Are looking for meaningful, hands-on work that makes a difference

Qualifications: Must beat least 17 years of age High School Diploma or GED preferred Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, OR willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hireCNA (active or inactive) accepted No experience required - training and support provided Mustnotbe listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings Ability to work independently Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities Strong communication skills Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent)
