Reports to:
Branch Manager Relay Express, a leading logistics company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Warehouse Traffic clerk to join our dynamic team. As our Warehouse Traffic clerk you will be an integral part of our warehouse operations, responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials through our facility. This position requires a high level of efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This will be a combination of receiving inbound freight, assisting drivers with identifying and loading outbound freight at our 3-door facility.
Role Description:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Indianapolis Indiana, responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities and ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant operations. This role includes supervising warehouse freight flow, coordinating inbound and outbound freight, managing inventory accuracy, and optimizing space utilization and workflow. The manager will oversee cross-dock and logistical warehousing processes, ensure timely order fulfillment, and maintain high standards of quality and customer service. Daily responsibilities also involve monitoring performance metrics, enforcing safety protocols, collaborating with transportation and customer service teams, and implementing process improvements to support operational goals and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, coaching, and performance management. Candidates should possess experience in Operations Management, with a focus on process optimization and meeting service-level expectations. Candidates should possess skills in Inventory Control to maintain accuracy, manage stock levels, and support efficient order fulfillment. Candidates should possess Warehouse Management capabilities, including workflow planning, space utilization, and safety compliance. This is a hands on position. Each day will include loading and unloading trucks with forklift and pallet jacks. Each day will involve physical sort and assist with general commodity freight for OS&D reporting. Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to support internal and external stakeholders and resolve issues promptly. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in logistics or transportation, familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications. High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred. Ability to work on-site, stand and walk for extended periods, and safely handle typical warehouse tasks in accordance with company safety standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.- Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment preferred.- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Benefits and Compensation:· Hours: 11:00-19:30 Monday-Friday· Salary $52,000-$55,000 to start based on experience· Medical Benefits after 60 days.
